IT Stands for Information Technology and it is pronounced “I.T.” It refers to anything related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the Internet, or the people that work with these technologies. B.Tech (Information Technology) at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is a four year (eight semesters) under graduate programme, started in the year 2000 in affiliation with Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Admission to the B.TECH (IT) programme is through a Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by the UPTU. Being a student of Information Technology (IT) you need to particularly excel yourself in some of the skills that are Computer Networking, Information Security, IT Governance,ITIL, Business Intelligence, Linux, Unix and Project Management. In Galgotia College of Engineering Technology, a variety of learning tools are used for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, Case study, Project work, Field experience, Assignments, Quiz, Seminars, Industry visits etc. are some of the methods used. The defining features of the B.TECH (IT) curriculum provide exposure to cutting-edge technology given to the students.
