Teeth plaques are usually the chief offender of yellow teeth. Plaque is a thin layer of yellow substance that starts to form on your teeth when you don’t maintain it properly. This isn’t good for several reasons. For example, people will think that you don’t take care of your general healthy too well if you show off your gangster-like golden teeth. Therefore, every precaution needs to be taken in order to maintain healthy, white teeth. In this article, we examine several remedies you can use at home in order to get rid of teeth plaque naturally. First, the most obvious way of getting rid of plaque is to simply avoid it in the first place. It’s not hard to avoid. Although it may be annoying for some, you have to brush your teeth after every meal. You can’t just brush for a few seconds either. You need to brush for a solid two minutes in order to give your teeth a chance against plaque buildup. Your dental care is not over just yet. You also have to do an activity called flossing, which can be considered something which is even more important than brushing. Flossing allows you to effectively remove any leftover food debris in your mouth. If you leave those food debris in your mouth overnight, bacteria will start spreading, enabling the formation of plaque on the teeth surface. If you are an unfortunate soul with plaque already on your teeth, there are several home remedies you can use to naturally get rid of it over time. None of these work overnight. You have to be persistent in order to see results. Depending on the severity of your condition, it can take months before you see any noticeable changes. One remedy you could use is to eat an apple everyday. If you are an apple lover, that is great. Choose the crunchiest one of them all. The crunch texture of apples helps you remove stains on your teeth without having to resort to artificial stain removers. That isn’t it. The rich nutrients found in apple will also improve your overall health. Another home remedy worth trying is to use lemon juice. Before you go ahead and start squeezing lemon all over your mouth, be careful. Since lemons are extremely acidic, you can do more damage to your mouth if you don’t dilute the lemon juice. Highly acidic solutions are known to cause teeth erosion. Therefore, you should dilute the lemon juice with some water before you swirl it around your mouth. Lemon juice will help kill off bacteria and keep your gum tissues healthy. Last but not least, wash your tongue regularly. Most people forget about their tongues. It’s where bacteria breed. It’s the perfect environment for most bacteria to spread and grow. Your tongue usually moves all around your mouth. You don’t necessarily have to buy one of those expensive tongue scrapers. If you are on a low budget, you can dip a spoon in some anti-bacterial mouthwash and use it to do a gentle scraping movement. Not only will you kill a lot of bacteria, your breath will start to smell a lot better too. It is really important to whiten your teeth. There are many teeth whitening procedures out there but be careful with the one you end up using.
