To use your glass distillation unit for a longer time you need to routinely clean it properly. Cleaning the glass water distiller will avoid any kind of mould building up in the unit and thereby getting more efficiency in using your filter unit. Usually it’s very easy to clean your glass distillation unit but it normally depends on the type of system you have and the method you use for cleaning your distillation unit. For few of the water distillation units, you have to clean them frequently as compared to other units and this normally depends upon the unit you buy from the market. The cleanser which is widely used to clean the distillation unit in the market is descaler, it’s a Sulfamic acid. Cleaning your distillation unit with this cleanser is very effective. There are few people who also use a less acidic cleanser to clean the water distiller. Vinegar is what normally people use as a mild acid for the cleansing job. But this should be done every 3-4 months. Don’t be lazy to clean your glass distillation unit because you have to do it sooner or later and the best way is to do it on time, this is normally recommended. For better cleansing, it’s also advisable to empty the boiling chamber unit every week. Steps to cleanse your distillation unit: The first and the main step to cleanse your water distillation unit is to first turn off your main power switch and remove the lid from the boiling chamber. Next, you need to add 2-3 tablespoon of the Descaler or any other cleansing agent which you using in the boiling chamber. Agitate the solution for nearly 5-10 seconds. Next step is to allow the system to set overnight and let the cleanser have a complete effect on the boiler. Next day drain the cleanser from the chamber and rinse it with 4 lts of water. You can also put more water in the chamber depending on the requirement. Make sure you have removed the entire descaler from the chamber and no residues are remaining. If you have trouble in removing the descaler, you can wipe the chamber with the help of a soft cloth. Next thing is to turn on the main power and water, make sure that the water is coming in your distillation unit chamber. If you want to use it, place the lid and you are set to use your distillation unit.
