Hi all, wondering if anyone had any advice. I'm in the UK with a UK bank account.

I lost my bank card yesterday and obviously phoned the bank straight away to cancel it. However, now I'm wondering if my direct debits (that have been set up for ages) that come out of this account will be cancelled because of this.

It's been so long since I set them up that I can't remember if I gave my account details or my card details... Are there different types of direct debits in this respect?! It's just that a direct debit was meant to leave my account today and it hasn't, so I was wondering if it's anything to do with this..?

My account hasn't been frozen or anything because I've still been able to transfer money via online banking to a different account from the account I lost the card to. I bank with Halifax by the way.

I hope this makes sense. All help appreciated!

no, don't worry; all you've lost is the ability to get money out of a cash machine with that card - and you did the right thing by cancelling it. Everything else on the account will continue to operate as normal. so the problem with the direct debit is unrelated. Contact the bank anyway.

No,Your Direct debits will still go out, you can also still withdraw money, take your Passport or Drivers license with you
