As the world becomes more and more acclimatised to the appearance of the electronic cigarette on the high streets and within restaurants and bars smokers are switching over to this new safer alternative in their droves. And with the invention of the ecigarette it seems that the days when smokers were condemned to die from tobacco smoking illnesses arte of the past. Electronic Cigarette Health Statistics The electronic cigarette was invented and patented in 1963 and was eventually manufactured in 1995. Since its emergence onto the market in 1995 there has been a furore of debate to the health aspects of using this alternative to tobacco. Wild claims of unproven health hazards and speculations of future potential harm have dogged the electronic cigarette since its appearance and real threat to the tobacco industry. Here are some statistics (based on factual evidence supplied by UK eCigarettes) for the time period 1995 – 2013: 1995 – 2013
Smoking Related Deaths: Electronic Cigarettes = 0 / Tobacco Cigarettes 40,000,000
Smoking Related Illnesses: Electronic Cigarettes = 0 / Tobacco Cigarettes 55,000,000 Worldwide Government Reactions There has been a wide range of reactions from both national and state Governments regarding the sale, use and manufacture of electronic cigarettes and e liquid (nicotine additive). Some states in the US have placed an outright ban on the sales and use of ecigarette and some national Governments such as Israel and Turkey has followed suit. At first most Governments did not quite know how to react to the ecigarette and despite some Governments making rash decisions to ban them, most Governments are now satisfied of their safety, in the UK regulation is being made to ensure consumers are safe in their purchase of starter kits and e liquid. While eager to cater for their peoples health most Governments have had to think carefully about how the electronic cigarette will affect their coffers as more and more tobacco cigarette smokers switch to this safer alternative the tax revenue on the sale of tobacco cigarettes has seen a sharp fall, which is something no Government like to see. Language Phrases As with all new crazies’ new language has sprung up to describe users of electronic cigarettes. A person who uses an electronic cigarette is known as a ‘Vaper’, this term is derived from the methodology used within the ecigarette which vaporises the eliquid for the user to ingest. The electronic cigarette itself has become know under w wide range of new terms such as; ecig, vapestick, tanko, vaporiser. A few minutes crawling through the many online vaping forums will open you up to a new world of casual and quick slang terminology dedicated solely to the electronic cigarette world. The Future of Electronic Cigarettes As we are now in the 21st century it is not strange to think of smokers using electronic devices to ingest nicotine, these new dives show tobacco to be an antiquated dangerous method of nicotine delivery that belongs somewhere in the dark ages. It is estimated that within the next 5 years over 70% of tobacco smokers will have switched over to using electronic cigarettes, and as there are over 1.2 billion smokers the electronic cigarette industry will overtake and squash the tobacco industry nearly completely. eCigarettes are here to stay and will eventually be allowed in all countries and states and time goes on.
